Beginner classes are for those with little or no line dance experience. Instructors demonstrate steps and teach easier dances. The pace is adjusted to allow time for students to master steps and learn basic dances. Fun is emphasized.
Recreation Center classes are taught by volunteers who are not compensated, and who are very patient! Classes are free to Village residents. Villages IDs must be shown. For safety, instructors ask that all students wear supportive footwear -- no flip flops or backless sandals.

Beginner classes also are offered through The Villages Lifelong Learning College. The classes are open to everyone, providing an opportunity for Villagers to learn along with family members and friends who are not residents of The Villages.
Smaller class size allows for some individual attention and enables instructors to adjust the pace of the class to the needs of those enrolled.
Class sessions run for five or six weeks. There is a fee for Lifelong Learning College classes. Fees are set at three levels. Fees for College patrons (donors) range from $21 to $24. Fees for residents of The Villages range from $24 to $27 and fees for nonresidents range from $30 to $34. Fees are for the six-week session.
Ultra Beginner and Beginner classes help students overcome any sense of having "two left feet," cover the basic steps of ine dancing and teach some of the dances that are popular on the Village squares.
Additional class information is available in the The Villages Lifelong Learning College catalog at www.thevillageslifelongcollege.com. To enroll in a class, call (352) 753-3035 or visit the office in the east wing of The Villages High School, facing Belvedere Boulevard.
