Beginner Plus classes are geared toward line dancers who have some experience as well as knowledge of steps and terminology. Most students at this level have spent a year in a Beginner class, or have equivalent experience.
Recreation Center classes are taught by volunteers who are not compensated. Classes are free to residents with Villages ID. Proper footwear is required -- no flip flops or backless sandels. Many students at this level invest in shoes or boots especially for line dancing, or cover street shoes with old socks to allow for easier movement on the dance floor.

Beginner Plus classes also are offered through The Villages Lifelong Learning College. The classes are open to everyone, providing an opportunity for Villagers to learn along with family members and friends who are not residents of The Villages.
Smaller class size allows for some individual attention and enables instructors to adjust the pace of the class to the needs of those enrolled.
Class sessions run for five or six weeks. There is a fee for Lifelong Learning College classes. Fees are set at three levels. The fee for College patrons (donors) ranges from $21 to $24. The fee for residents of The Villages ranges from $24 to $27 and the fee for nonresidents ranges from $32 to $34. Fees are for the six-week session.
Beginner Plus classes include dances that are seen on the Village squares as well as new dances that are gaining popularity in the state and national line dance communities.
Additional class information is available in the The Villages Lifelong Learning College catalog at www.thevillageslifelongcollege.com. To enroll in a class, call (352) 753-3035 or visit the office in the east wing of The Villages High School, facing Belvedere Boulevard.
